Your life on Earth is given to you to help you learn and grow. Every day you meet new challenges and opportunities, and what you learn from them helps you to meet the challenges of tomorrow! It isn't just a question of getting things right all the time. Often the best lessons are learned by making a mistake or doing the wrong thing. However this is only true if you learn from it. and acknowledge that it was a mistake. Sin is when the mistake remains unacknowledged or the lesson remains unlearnt!
Man has the ability to learn and correct his behaviour as he goes along, and, unlike the animal kingdom, has the freewill to choose to do something that could endanger his survival or not be pleasant. Take, for example, a giant crocodile or one of the big cats. If they are hungry or need to feed their young and they see another animal that they can overpower and kill, that is what they will do, in order to survive. A crocodile doesn't think, "Oh dear, that little one has a mummy waiting for it to return for supper!" Nor does it think when it sees a plump female, "Oh I'd better not kill that one; it will make its offspring orphans!" It will seize the opportunity and go for the kill. But man has the ability to make a decision based on factors other than survival. He can restrain his hand, through pity, sympathy, love, and a number of other reasons. This sets him apart from the rest of creation.
Man soon learns that if he takes certain actions he provokes a response in others. Sometimes, if the action is good, that response is positive, and manifests itself in love, praise, thanks or generosity. But, if the action is bad or harmful, the response is negative and can be expressed as retaliation, self defence or defiance.
What sets man above the rest of Creation is his ability to love. His ability to love stems from Creation, when I made the man in my own image. Being made in the image of God, does not mean that God looks like you! I don't have the same colour hair, or the same defining physical features as any one individual. What I gave man that made him in my image, was the ability to freely choose and freely love. By giving him this priceless gift, I also created the possibility that he could choose the wrong thing, and hate rather than love. But in order to receive his freely given love, that was a risk I was prepared to take.
You have heard me say before, that there is no power in the entire creation stronger than love! Well, that it the reason I was prepared to take the risk, because love has the power to overcome every obstacle. The first lesson mankind must learn is how to love. That is why I created motherhood. Every child should learn to love from his or her parents. When a man loves his wife, he passes on to his children a powerful gift. The pattern of of love. When a woman is loved, either or both, by her father and her husband, she is able to show, give and pass on love, to her children and those around her.
Love is the best gift you can give to any human being. It is more valuable than all the latest gadgets, or the most valuable metals or stones in the world. One simple act, or word of love, can build up the broken and lift up the fallen, and speaks far more powerfully than a library of books!
If this first lesson of loving those around you is not learned, then the harshness and cruelty of the world becomes man's teacher, and in place of love, hate takes root. Instead of acts of kindness and generosity, selfishness and violence prevail.
Hatred, suspicion and violence are not stopped by hatred, suspicion and violence! They feed on each other and escalate. The only way to counter hatred is to love. The only way to counter suspicion is with truth and trust. The only way to counter violence is with the peace that only I can give. Others will try to tell you differently and will laugh at your naivety. But that is because they have no idea or comprehension, of the enormous power of Love!
My purpose for the Church and or my people is that you become Love in the world. Jesus, my beloved Son, whom I love with all my being, shows you how to love.
Jesus was born into a situation where murder, hatred, suspicion and envy surrounded him, from the very beginning to the very end of his earthly life! He overcame all of it, using the gift I gave to him, and have given to every man, woman and child, since Adam and Eve. The gift of being made in the image of God, to have the ability to love.
Overcome the world by using this precious gift I have given you. Rise up and show that mankind is not a part of the animal kingdom, but a distinct and unique creation of mine, and made in My image.
Let go of the sin, that clings like filthy rags to you. It pulls you down like a ball and chain! Reject the life of hatred, suspicion, violence and darkness, that gives rise to greed and lust. Let it fall from you into the dust. Rise up, men and women of God. Stand tall and straight. Cover your nakedness with the righteousness of Jesus, and clothe yourselves with the armour that I provide. Raise up your sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and move forward in the power of Love. No one shall stand before you, no one can stop you for I am with you. I Love You.
