Me: Good morning Lord. Thank you for waking me this morning and for this new day. Thank you for allowing me to walk with you and thank you for feeding my soul with thoughts from you. I love you Lord.
Lord: Good morning son, welcome to the club this morning. Yes, I am able to talk to you and to give you visions at any time of the day or the night, as long as you start the day with me and stay close at all times.
Look Martin, What do you see?
Me: Lord, I see men, big and strong, with muscles like bronze, mighty warriors against whom, none seem able to stand. They wield a sword of hate and have sharp knives of injustice. Around their knuckles they have bound spikes of oppression. On their feet are great boots that trample on the poor and the fallen. Out of their mouths they curse the Lord's people, and their eyes blaze with the red light of lust, greed and anger.
Lord: What you see are those who have determined to destroy the Church and strike a blow against Me. Do not be deceived by their looks; they are not what they seem! To the world, deceived and beguiled by Satan, that is what they look like, unassailable, immovable and capable of great destruction. Look again son. What do you see?
Me: I see one of these men, naked and bound with chains of iron to a huge iron frame. Every muscle in his body is straining against the chains but all he is doing is causing himself injury and pain. On his face is a look of humiliation and anguish, but the fire in his eyes is not so bright as before. Before him are a group of children, in their early teens. They are preparing food. It looks like soup, and bread! The smell of the soup is rising and curling around the mans nose, causing him to twitch and his stomach muscles to spasm. The children are laughing and singing. They are not laughing at the man, but through happiness, as children do!
Lord: What you see is what I am doing in your day. The young and inexperienced, the weak and those overlooked by the strong, have overcome the strong man, and have bound him with chains. The chains they have used are wrought with the truth, making them unbreakable. The iron frame is firmly fixed on the rock which is Jesus and is immovable The soup and bread they are preparing for him is the Word of God, the gospel of Jesus. This man is heaving and twitching as the smell reaches him, because all his life he has been starved of the truth and the good news. He has been fed with only hate and lies. Have you noticed, he is now alone? I have separated him from his companions. They too are being held in isolation from each other. This is so that they are not distracted or deafened by each other. Together they perpetuate the lie, but alone the lie begins to crumble. What more do you see?
Me: The soup is ready. The children have climbed on to steps and are feeding him with spoons. After initial hesitation he is eager to consume as much as possible. Ah! I can hear his mind, his thoughts! He is thinking, "If I can eat as much as possible I can regain my strength and escape this bondage." The more he eats the less red his eyes are. The less his muscles strain against the chains. All the time he has been fed, the children are singing. As they climb down the steps to refill the bowl, the man relaxes and sags against his chains. Sweat is pouring from him, and tears are running like a river down his face.
Lord: As the lie begins to crumble, the man is open to the good news about Jesus and feeds like a starving man. At first he thinks he can find the flaw in what he hears. After all, nothing he has yet heard has ever stood the test of time! But slowly, like a dripping tap, constant and persistent, the truth of Jesus seeps through the crumbling defences. The fire of conviction and anger are extinguished and replaced by the blue of the sky that reflects the glory of God. As he relaxes, the chains become less bondage and more support. Trying to keep hold of the lie, even when it doesn't fit the facts or ring true in his heart, has taken its toll. The result is a bath of sweat which washes all the pain and grime of sin and shame to the surface, and the tears which fall from his eyes are first of shame, and then change to repentance and relief. Yes, relief, as the truth begins to penetrate his last defences. Now son, what do you see?
Me: I see a broken man, hanging naked and limp, all the toughness of his body relaxed as though in death! His eyes are closed and his head hangs down. Then, as I looked, I saw one single drop of blood fall on his head, and even as I looked, it spread until he was covered with scarlet! Then, starting at the top of his head and working its way down to the soles of his feet, the blood changed into a cleansing water, which washed him from head to foot, as clean as any shower or soap could clean. As I looked again, I saw that the chains had gone, as had the iron frame, and he was clothed in a robe, pure and white as snow.
Lord: You see well, for it is the blood of Jesus alone, that is truly able to wash away your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. It is only when you are clothed in the robe of righteousness, that is Jesus, that you are able to come into my presence.
Now I will tell you what the vision means! The man you saw was just one of many, who oppose the truth. They are scientists, politicians, businessmen, teachers, and men and women from every profession and walk of life. Their sole aim, because they have been deceived by Satan, is to rid the world of the truth found in Jesus, and to try and write Me out of the text books! Because so many Christians have been asleep, or not firm enough in their faith, these men and women have made their position so strong, that even some of the elect are deceived by them!
However, in your day, I have come up against them and confronted them. In the scientific world, I am confounding their theories, and tying them in knots, which don't make sense to them! In the political world, I am toppling governments and leaders, not by bringing them up against a stronger foe, but by raising up the weak and the helpless. It is I who have caused the financial markets to crumble and fall. For too long mankind throughout the world, has been putting all his trust in wealth, and so-called economics. From now on, only those who put their trust in me will prosper.
In all these different fields, it is the young and inexperienced who will prevail. It won't be the academics who present the truth to the scientists, but those who know and love me, those whom I choose to reveal the mysteries of the universe. It will not be politicians who build a better world, it will be visionaries, people with a heart of love and a will of steel. It will not be financiers and bankers that create wealth, but those who hold the secret of love, one for another.
Many things that you have all grown used to and consider the basics of life, will pass away and you will be forced to think again about priorities! But those who stay close to me, those who place their trust in me, those who allow me to wash them in the blood of Jesus, they will endure and will inherit eternal life.
Do not despise the weak, nor wander from the truth. Do not place your hope on men or nations. Turn to me in repentance and trust, and I will show myself to you as the Lord who saves, the Lord your strength and the Lord your provider. I love you.
